UoT Holds Second Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) Conference; Speakers Emphasize Social Justice, Religious Harmony, and Prophet Teachings

The Directorate of Students Affairs, University of Turbat, organized the second Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) Conference on August 25, 2026, in connection with the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal. The conference was presided over by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan and attended by a large number of students, faculty members, and administrative staff with devotion and reverence. Proceedings began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, and were conducted by the Director of Student Affairs, Chakar Haider.
In his presidential address, Vice Chancellor Dr. Gul Hasan said that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is a benefactor of the entire Ummah and that his blessed life serves as a guiding light for all of humanity. He stated that love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and adherence to his teachings are an essential part of our faith. He added that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) had strongly emphasized maintaining ties of kinship, ensuring that rightful claimants receive their due, and basing decisions on merit and justice rather than family or blood relations. He further remarked that the continued holding of Seerat conferences at the University of Turbat is of vital importance in introducing the younger generation to Islamic teachings and the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
Addressing the conference, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Salim of the Department of Political Science, Mufti Zuhair Ahmed, and other speakers offered thought-provoking remarks in light of the Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH), touching on the present education system, social justice, and the importance of upholding merit in institutions, as well as on making the Prophet's exemplary conduct a practical model in one's own life. The speakers emphasized the need to incorporate the Holy Prophet's moral and social teachings into the modern curriculum and to promote the study of his life, adding that, given current circumstances, teachings centered on religious harmony, respect for humanity, non-violence, mutual unity, and a culture of reconciliation should be promoted as widely as possible. They further noted with appreciation that, under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Dr. Gul Hasan, the University of Turbat is admirably fulfilling its social, national, and religious responsibilities alongside its academic duties.
The conference concluded with a special prayer for the country's security, progress, and prosperity, the establishment of peace, and the ability to follow the exemplary conduct of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
