Laptop Distribution Ceremony Held at Turbat University under Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme, Sukkur IBA Pro Vice Chancellor Attends as Chief Guest

The laptop distribution ceremony under the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme was held at the University of Turbat (UoT) on May 4, 2026.

The ceremony was graced by the Pro Vice Chancellor of Sukkur IBA University, Prof. Dr. Manzoor Ali Mirani, as the chief guest, who, along with Vice Chancellor UoT Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan and IBA’s Director ORIC and Project Coordinator Erasmus+ CBHE RAPID, Prof. Dr. Javed Ahmed Shahani, distributed laptops among deserving students of the university.

The event was attended by Pro Vice Chancellor UoT Dr. Kamal Ahmed, Registrar Ganguzar Baloch, Director Public Relations Ijaz Ahmed, Director Staff and Protocol to Vice Chancellor Sukkur IBA University, Meraj Muhammad Mahar and PSO to Vice Chancellor UoT, Mir Bahad Baloch, along with a large number of students.

Addressing the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Manzoor Ali Mirani commended the remarkable academic progress and infrastructural development of the University of Turbat under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan. He appreciated the university’s commitment to quality education, institutional growth, and the determination of its students in pursuing higher education.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, along with Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Kamal Ahmed, highlighted the university’s initiatives on equipping students with modern skills.

He expressed his gratitude to Prof. Dr. Javed Ahmed Shahani for his continued guidance and support, particularly in facilitating access to international research opportunities and identifying funding avenues for a smart classroom under the European-funded Project ERAMUS+, as well as supporting the university’s efforts toward internationalization.

Vice Chancellor emphasized ongoing initiatives to introduce IT diploma programs, Artificial Intelligence, and other professional courses aligned with market demands. He urged students to make effective use of the laptops to enhance their knowledge and develop digital competencies. Briefing the participants, PM Laptop Scheme Focal Person at UoT, Engineer Bilal ur Rehman, stated that more than 1400 students received laptops under the scheme.

Earlier, the delegation from Sukkur IBA University met with the Vice Chancellor of the University of Turbat in his office. During the meeting, theyvdiscussed strengthening institutional linkages and expanding avenues for collaboration. They identified opportunities for joint academic programs, faculty development and training, collaborative research projects at national and international levels, and student exchange initiatives. The delegation visited the university’s library, smart classroom, Innovesta Lab, and other facilities.
