University of Turbat Successfully Completes PREE Assessments in Affiliated Colleges Under HEC PSG 2023 Framework

University of Turbat has successfully completed the Program Review for Effectiveness and Enhancement (PREE) assessments of undergraduate programs at its affiliated colleges, in accordance with the Higher Education Commission’s PSG 2023 guidelines. The assessment visits were conducted on May 7, 2026, at Government Girls Degree College Turbat and Government Atta Shad Degree College Turbat. The review process was facilitated by the Director, QEC, Dr. Riaz Ahmed, and the Divisional Monitoring Officer, Prof. Barkat Ismail.


The Assessment Teams included Dr. Adnan Riaz, Mr. Changaiz Ahmed, Ms. Aziza Aman for BS English, Dr. Jahangir Khan, Dr. Zafar Ahmed, Ms. Aziza Aman for BS Zoology, and Dr. Irshad Mayar, Mr. Ameer Bakhsh, Mr. Noor Ahmed for BS Botany. During the visits, the teams reviewed Self-Assessment Reports (SARs), course files, program documents, laboratories, libraries, and other academic facilities, and also interacted with faculty members and students to assess teaching and learning processes.


In the exit meetings held with principals, the DMO, Director QEC, and the Assessment Teams highlighted key areas for academic improvement. These included strengthening departmental semester committees, improving academic monitoring and documentation practices, enhancing laboratory and library facilities, expanding digital and internet resources, and increasing opportunities for student internships and experiential learning. The teams also emphasized the need for regular awareness sessions on semester rules, assessment standards, and quality assurance mechanisms to further strengthen institutional performance.


The college administrations and the DMO appreciated the constructive feedback and assured full cooperation in implementing the recommendations. Dr. Riaz Ahmed acknowledged the facilitation provided by the institutions and appreciated the coordination role of Prof. Barkat Ismail in ensuring the smooth conduct of the PREE cycle. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Riaz Ahmed stated that the successful completion of the PREE exercise reflects the university’s continued commitment to strengthening internal quality assurance systems and promoting a culture of continuous academic improvement in affiliated colleges. According to the university spokesperson, the University of Turbat, under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, remains committed to enhancing academic standards and ensuring quality education across its affiliated institutions.
