UoT set an example by maintaining higher education standards. Deputy Chairman Senate

Deputy Chairman Senate Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri said institutions in Balochistan including Turbat University are doing great job by preparing students for challenges they come across in professional life.

"I am glad to see how University of Turbat, an institute situated in remote area of Balochistan, has set an example by maintaining higher education standards," said Deputy Chairman Senate while visiting Turbat University on February 12, 2018.

While appreciating the efforts of vice chancellor Prof Dr Abdul Razzaq Sabir and his team for the development of higher learning in the region he said that there is an immense passion for achieving higher education in students of Balochistan and they should prepare themselves for competition in all spheres of life because the development and prosperity comes through quality education.

He said that the youth of province should be encouraged to acquire technical and advance education.

He said that Balochistan is blessed with many resources, all we need is modern technology and expert professionals to utilize them for development of the province. He insisted on the need for more devotion and allocation of resources for the promotion of education in the country.

Earlier, the university’s vice chancellor Prof Dr Abdul Razzaq Sabir along with his team accorded him a warm welcome on arrival at Turbat University.

Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir in his welcome address briefed the visitors on the background of the university’s establishment, meetings of statuary bodies, university infrastructure, development projects, governance system, academic programmes, enrolment of students, future plan and capacity-building activities of faculty members, administrative staff and students.

VC thanked the Higher Education Commission, Governor Balochistan Mohammad Khan Achakzai, and Former Chief Minister Balochistan Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch, both provincial and federal governments for their momentous role in the fast growth of Turbat University.

On the occasion Dr. Hanif ur Rehman Registrar Turbat University, Dean Faculty of Management Sciences Prof. Dr. Munir Ahmed, Dean Faculty of Arts Humanities and Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Abdul Saboor Baloch, Dean School of Law Dr Gul Hassan, Director Planning Mohammad Hayat, faculty members and other officers were also present.

Meanwhile Khalil Ahmed Buledi and Khalid Waleed Saifi had announced Rs 100,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively for purchasing books for the university.
