UoT-SPO Holds a Seminar on “The Role of Education in Political Socialization”

Former Federal Minister of Information and a senior journalist said We need to take some practical measures which include reform in our education system specially the syllabi of primary and secondary level institutions for a better political environment and progressive socialization process.
“The efforts of university’s management, faculty members and students are commendable for the quick development of Turbat University in short time,” said the former minister while addressing a seminar on “The Role of Education in Political Socialization” organized jointly by the University of Turbat (UoT) and Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO).
UoT registrar Dr Haneef Ur Rahman, Controller Examinations Tanvir Ahmed, Deputy Registrar Gangzar Baloch, Meyor Turbat City Qazi Ghulam Rasool, faculty members, university officers and students were present in seminar.
Jabbar assured to award some scholarships to the needy and deserving students of University of Turbat after its approval from the SPO Board of Directors.
Taking over the dais Faculty of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities Dean Professor Dr. Abdul Saboor Baloch said, “Mekran has a land very rich in cultural heritage and human civilization and the people of the region are very eager to acquire higher education and modern technology to face modern day’s challenges”.
He said Turbat University was equipped to bring political socialization in the region by promoting quality education.
Political Science Department Chairman Changez Ahmed and Chairperson Education Department Mahnaz Aslam wjile addressing thanked Javed Jabbar and his team for participating in seminar.
Chief Executive of SPO Saleem Malik, Pervaiz Iqbal of BBCL, SPO BoD members Abid Rizvi, Zenat Yusafzai and Farida Nosherwani shared their thoughts about the concept of socialization, the institutions of socialization and its determining factors as well as answering questions asked by the audience.
Professor Dr. Abdul Saboor Baloch presented the souvenir of the University to the speakers of the seminar.
Earlier, Dr Baloch along with his team welcomed the visitors on their arrival at UoT and led them to visit different parts of the university.
