SMEDA Balochistan organized One Day Training Workshop at both campuses of UoT

Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) Balochistan in collaboration with the Office of Research and Commercialization (ORIC) has organized a One Day training Workshop on “Entrepreneurship as a viable career option” in both campuses of Turbat University at Turbat and Gwadar on 29th and 30th of January 2019 respectively.
While inaugurating workshop at main campus Turbat the Vice Chancellor of Turbat University prof Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir has said that his institution had planned to expand its links with industries and companies in public and private sector through ORIC for the promotion of concept of entrepreneurship among the students of Turbat University enabling them to become a job provider rather than a job seeker.
Dr. Sabir said that his institution was working on a proposal for setting up an incubation center in the university. He thanked SMEDA provincial chief and his team for conducting such training workshop in its both campuses at Turbat and Gwadar for the capacity building of students and helping them to put their innovative ideas into action.
Director ORIC Dr. Adeel Ahmed said such workshop was beneficial for bringing an attitudinal change in participants and improving their personal entrepreneurial skills.
The resource persons of the training workshop famous entrepreneur and Private Development Consultant Mr. Abdul Qayyum and SMEDA regional coordinator Mr. Fahad Baloch informed the participants regarding various competencies to become a successful entrepreneur which include goal setting, taking calculated risks, systematic planning and monitoring and managing daily challenges.
The inaugural session at main campus Turbat was also attended by registrar UoT Ghulam Farooq, Chairpersons and heads of various academic and administrative departments, faculty members and students. Besides training coordinator Muhammad Irshad Buledi, the training workshop at Gwadar campus was also attended by faculty members and students.
At the end of workshop the director campus Ijaz Ahmed on behalf of VC UoT Prof Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir presented the shield to the resource person.
