9th meeting of Academic Council held in University of Turbat

The Turbat University’s Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir has said that his institution was committed to promote quality education among the youths of this region enabling them to compete in all spheres of life at national and international level and his institution had achieved considerable triumphs in last five years. He said this while presiding over the 9th meeting of UoT Academic Council held in committee room of the university on February 7, 2019.
The meeting was also attended by Registrar Ghulam Farooq, Humanities and Social Sciences Dean prof Dr. Abdul Saboor Baloch, Dean Research Dr. Riaz Ahmed, Controller Examinations Tanvir Ahmed, faculty member Dr. Naeem-Ullah, Chairpersons of teaching departments, representatives of affiliated colleges and other officials. He said that in this modern era of competition, quality education is the only source that can help the nations to move towards development and prosperity. VC said that UoT campus at Gwadar has been transformed into a full-fledged university, now they have planned to setup university’s second campus at Panjgur very soon, for which the proposal has been sent to the provincial government for approval.
Dr. Sabir said that “University of Turbat believes in meritocracy and the dissemination of quality education in this part of country is our main mission.
Besides approving the courses of different programs of study, the council also considered and recommended the proposal for affiliation of the entire degree colleges in the region with UOT for B.S programs. The meeting also recommended around 13 scholars for M.Phil degree from IBLC. The meeting expressed their satisfaction that due to considerable achievements the University of Turbat had earned a distinguished place in the lane of good universities of the country in short time which speak volumes of the tireless efforts made by the faculty members, administrative staff and public representatives of the area for making this day a reality, and university is wholeheartedly on the pathway to achieve its major remaining goals, true to principles of merit, selfless services and, utmost objectivity that certainly promotes a viable and dynamic society.
At the end of the meeting the VC thanked the participants for their contributions and suggestions for uplifting of higher education in this region.
