Arts, Craft and Calligraphy Exhibition in UoT Gwadar Campus

The Gwadar Campus of Turbat University booked another achievement in the list of its success story by organizing a One-Day Art, Craft and Calligraphy Exhibition at Campus on 27th April, 2019. It was the 2nd Exhibition organized by the students of B.Ed. (Hons) 3rd Semester of UoT Gwadar Campus as part of their course practical work. The 1st exhibition was held in 5th May 2018.
Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Dean Prof Dr. Abdul Saboor Baloch graced the mega event as chief guest. He inaugurated the exclusive Art Exhibition by cutting the ribbon at Campus Art Gallery. The opening ceremony was also attended by faculty of Science and Engineering Dean Dr. Haneef Ur Rahman, Controller Examinations Tanveer Ahmed, Chairman Economics Department main campus Abdul Qayyum, faculty members and administrative staff from UoT main campus and Gwadar Campus, representatives of educational institutions and other departments, civil society, educationists, local artists, students and people from all walks of life.
While addressing on the occasion of opening ceremony Prof Dr. Abdul Saboor said “this Art Exhibition depicts the hidden talent and creativity of the students and exhibition had proved that the students of Gwadar Campus are second to none in the arena of art and craft and today we witness that the people of this region are capable to compete at any level whenever and wherever they get a platform to polish their talent.”
Appreciating the work of the students and the arrangements of the event organizers he said that the creative artists had beautifully played with colors and gave vent to their imagination for depicting versatile themes by using recycled and waste materials, shades and symbols professionally. During welcome address Incharge Education Department Dur Jan Gichki highlighted the objectives of the event and thanked chief guest and other faculty member for gracing the event. She also thanked vice chancellor Prof Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir for his support and guidance in conducting this Art Exhibition.
Lecturer Fida Hussain and Hashim Usman a renowned artist from Gwadar also shared their views on this occasion and highlighted the significance of the exhibition.
Professional Photographer Meer Bahad Baloch also showcased his work in the exhibition which were liked and cherished by the visitors.
People from all walks of life and students from other educational institutions visited the exhibition and showed their keen interest in different kinds of exceptionally inspiring paintings and handy crafts made by the students.
The jury members Hashim Usman and Durjan Gichki examined and evaluated the artistic work of the students on merit. Azizullah, Atta Ur Rahman and Sheema secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively while the work of Mazar Usman was also exalted and awarded with prize.
At the end Prof Dr. Abdul Saboor, Dr. Haneef Rahman, Tanveer Ahmed, Incharge Management Sciences Department Ubaid Ali and Incharge Commerce Department Mujahid Hussain distributed shields, certificates and prizes among best performers and event organizers.
