NAB organized a lecture program at UoT Gwadar Campus

A lecture program on “Dreadful Effects of Corruption on Economy and NAB’s Anti-corruption Efforts” was organized at UoT Gwadar Campus on 24th October 2019 in collaboration with National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Balochistan.

Speaking at the occasion Director NAB Balochistan Zahid Shiekh said that NAB was mandated with the task to eliminate corruption from all sectors of the economy, therefore an extensive strategy based on awareness, prevention and enforcement was placed to sensitize the general public regarding harmful effects of corruption and to raise voice against corrupt practices. He underlined that under NAB’s Awareness and Prevention campaign, NAB has been engaging different Governmental, Non-Governmental Organizations, Media, Civil Society and other segments of society to join hands with NAB’s Awareness and Prevention efforts in order to aware people especially students in Universities and Colleges, because educational institutions were the torch bearers of awareness campaign being run by NAB. He thanked Chairman HEC, VC Turbat University Prof Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, faculty members, administrative staff and students of Turbat University for being part of the NAB’s efforts to create public awareness especially among the youths and students against the menace of corruption.

Sharing his views Director Gwadar Campus Ijaz Ahmed said that UoT’s VC Prof Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir had advised standing with NAB’s Awareness and Prevention campaign because it would play an important role in eradicating corruption from society. He said it was our moral duty to create public awareness against the adverse effects of corruption, therefore, the management of Turbat University had decided to organize walk, lecture program, declamation contest, essay writing, poster painting, calligraphy and other competitions in its main campus Turbat and Gwadar campus in collaboration with NAB.

He appreciated the efforts taken by NAB to aware people about the ill effects of corruption under its awareness and prevention campaign.

Highlighting the dreadful effects of corruption on the economy, faculty member Zain Ul Abideen said that corruption was the mother of all evils, without eradicating corruption, no nation can be developed and prosperous.

The lecture program was also attended by Assistant Director NAB Balochistan Adnan Zakir, Incharge Management Sciences Ubaid Ali, Incharge Commerce Department Mujahid Hussain, faculty member Fida Hussain, Irshad Buledi, Mir Bilal Khan, Gulsher Ahmed, Majid Ali, Manager Askary Bank Bijjar Baloch and students’ at large number.

In the end, question-answer session was held. Director NAB Balochistan Zahid Shiekh and Director Gwadar Campus Ijaz Ahmed exchanged shields on the behalf of their respective institutions. Zahid Shiekh also planted a tree on the lawn of the campus.
