BREAST Cancer awareness seminar held in University of Turbat

In order to create awareness about the prevalence and early diagnosis of breast cancer, a seminar was held at the University of Turbat (UoT) on 31st October 2019. The seminar was organized by the Department of Natural and Basic Sciences (UoT) in collaboration with UDaan. UoT Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir said that the only way to overcome deadly disease was its early diagnosis and treatment. “According to a survey, every 9th woman in Pakistan is suffering from breast cancer. Organizing such seminars will be helpful in spreading basic awareness and knowledge about the disease,” he said.
Prof Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir appreciated the efforts of chairman, faculty members and students of the Department of Natural and Basic Sciences for organizing seminars on social and other related issues which helped in creating awareness among the people. Faculty of Sciences and Engineering Dean Dr. Hanif Ur Rehman urged upon the participants to play their role by disseminating knowledge on breast cancer in the society.
He thanked VC UoT and participants for contributing and participating in the seminar.
Addressing at the occasion Ms. Granaz Baloch CEO UDaan stated that the survival rate of Breast Cancer patients has improved considerably over the years and advances in the treatment of breast cancer have greatly enhanced the quality of life in the breast cancer patients.
During seminar students also delivered speeches and performed dramas related to Breast Cancer to create awareness among participants. The seminar was attended by faculty members and students at large numbers.
