Turbat University and PPAF to work on water, poverty issues

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between University of Turbat (UoT) and Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF). Vice Chancellor of University of Turbat Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir and PPAF Head of Programmes Simi Kamal signed the agreement at ceremony held in UoT’s meeting room on 21st February, 2020. The ceremony was also attended by Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences dean Prof. Dr. Abdul Saboor Baloch, Dean Faculty of Law Prof. Dr. Gul Hassan, Dean Faculty of Science and Engineering Dr. Haneef Ur Rahman, Director linkages Ijaz Ahmed, Assistant Manager PPR Unit (PPAF) Saadia Tariq, CEO UDAAN Giranaz Baloch, PSO to Vice Chancellor Bilal Ur Rahman and Protocol Officer Meer Bahad Baloch.
Under the agreement, the both parties will collaborate to develop research and conferences on water management and poverty alleviation for bringing social and economic prosperity in Balochistan. Besides, the internship opportunities for the students of Turbat University will also be provided in PPAF office.

Earlier, during a meeting at his chamber, Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir formally welcomed Simi Kamal and her team to UoT. Highlighting university’s activities and achievements accomplished by his institution in short time he said that Turbat University was committed to innovation in higher education and had achieved a rapid and comprehensive development in short span of six years.

Dr. Sabir said that his institution was working on a comprehensive plan for expanding collaboration agreements with different national and international universities and institutions. Simi Kamal noted with pleasure the excellent and conducive environment for research and acquiring education in Turbat University.

She expressed confidence that collaboration with two institutions will provide a platform to the youth of this region to brush up their skills and talent for playing a leading role in the development and prosperity of the province.

Simi Kamal believed that this MoU will help to strengthen the relationships between UoT and PPAF in different fields. She also praised the distinguished structure, construction quality and color scheme of UoT’s building. Meanwhile the Vice Chancellor also presented the shields to the guests.
