Vice-Chancellor chairs 15th meeting of Academic Council of University of Turbat

The Academic Council of the University of Turbat (UoT) discussed several academic matters and made important decisions aimed at further improving the education standard at the University and its affiliated colleges.

The 15th meeting of the Academic Council was chaired by UoT’s Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad at the video conference room of the university on 12th December 2023.

In his welcome note, the Vice Chancellor thanked all members for their active participation and involvement in the meeting. Highlighting the significant role of the Academic Council in promoting quality education, he emphasized to use all resources to take the University to the next level and bring about academic excellence in the University.

The forum extensively deliberated and resolved different agenda items including the adoption of the HEC Graduate Education Policy 2023 and revision of Graduate Rules, the Ethical Institutional Review Board, the adoption of the HEC-Revised Anti-Plagiarism Policy, adoption of HEC Undergraduate Policy 2023, formation of Board of Faculty for the Faculty of Social Sciences, Mission/Vision and Strategic Plan 2024-28 for the Management Sciences Department, reinstating the Special Exams for Mid-term Examinations, initiating AD Zoology and BS Education Programs, and Annual Academic Calendar 2024.

Besides other members of the council, the meeting was also attended by Dr. Mansoor Ahmed, UoT’s Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Abdul Saboor Baloch, Dean, Faculty of Literature and languages, Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, Dean of Law Faculty, Dr. Haneef Ur Rehman, Dean, Faculty of Science, Engineering, and IT, Dr. Waseem Barkat, Dean, Faculty of Business and Economics, Dr. Adeel Ahmed, Dean Academics, Dr. Abdul Majid Nasir, Controller of Examinations, Ganguzar Baloch, Registrar, and Dr. Riaz Ahmed, Director Quality Enhancement Cell of UoT. The Government of Balochistan’s Secretary for Colleges and Higher Education and representative of the Higher Education Commission attended the meeting through the video link.
