Challenges and Way Forward Discussed in Meeting Between Governor Balochistan and UoT Vice-Chancellor

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Turbat (UoT), Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, met with the Governor of Balochistan and Chancellor of UoT, Shaikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, on November 25, 2024, at the Governor’s Secretariat in Quetta. The Principal Secretary to the Governor, Hashim Khan Ghilzai, was also present during the meeting.
During the discussion, the Governor admired the University of Turbat for its significant contributions to advancing higher education in the province. He emphasized the importance of integrating modern skill development into academic programs and encouraged the community to support underprivileged students in pursuing their education.
Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan briefed the Governor on the university's progress and future plans, highlighting university achievements in academics and extracurricular activities despite resource constraints. He discussed efforts to improve education quality, enhance academia-market collaboration, the automation of university processes, implement solarization and power supply solutions, and phase II of UoT’s development project, including the revision of its PC-I.
He also highlighted the importance of enhancing employability, ensuring the timely conduct of meetings of the university's statutory bodies, organizing convocations, and effectively addressing the university’s financial challenges. Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan reaffirmed his administration's commitment to maintaining merit, financial discipline, and transparent governance in the university.
Appreciating the Vice-Chancellor's innovative vision for reforms in higher education and university, Governor Balochistan assured his continued support in addressing the university's challenges, including its financial issues. He also emphasized comprehensive reforms to resolve the longstanding problems faced by universities across the province.
