Organized by NAHE in collaboration with UoT, this initiative is part of a nationwide effort to enhance the professional development of university faculty members, improve teaching methodologies, and strengthen research capabilities.
The event was attended by UoT’s Pro Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Mansoor Ahmed, along with deans, directors, departmental chairpersons, and faculty members from various academic disciplines. The NAHE resource person, Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Memon from FAST University Karachi, was also present.
In his inaugural address, Dr. Mansoor Ahmed expressed gratitude to the Chairman of the Higher Education Commission, Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, and the Managing Director of NAHE, Dr. Noor Amna Malik, for including UoT in the National Outreach Program (NOP). He praised HEC and NAHE for providing early-career faculty members at UoT with the opportunity to enhance their academic skills. Dr. Mansoor Ahmed encouraged participants to fully engage in the training sessions, emphasizing their potential to refine academic and professional capabilities, teaching methods, and leadership abilities.
The Pro Vice-Chancellor commended HEC for aligning its policies and initiatives with various Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and for promoting academic practices that adhere to global standards. He urged HEC and NAHE to prioritize UoT, emphasizing that Makran Division, and particularly Turbat, represents the future of human resource development in Balochistan.
Mr. Chakar Hyder, NOP Coordinator at UoT, outlined the objectives and expected outcomes of the program. He explained that the training aims to bridge the gap between contemporary teaching methodologies and the evolving needs of the academic landscape. Over the three weeks, more than 30 faculty members from various departments will participate in sessions conducted by highly qualified resource persons from across Pakistan, addressing emerging challenges in higher education and refining teaching practices.
