Inter-University Sports: UoT Triumphs in Football, UoG Dominates Cricket

The cricket and football teams of the University of Gwadar, led by Mr. Sagheer Ahmed, Director of Sports at the University of Gwadar, visited the University of Turbat (UoT) on August 26, 2025.
Mr. Mazhar Ali, Director of Sports at UoT, along with his team, warmly welcomed the visitors on their arrival at UoT. Both universities engaged in two thrilling encounters, one on the football field and the other on the cricket pitch.
In a thrilling display of talent, the University of Turbat football team clinched a remarkable 2–1 victory over the visiting side. The nail-biting match kept the spectators on the edge of their seats as both teams showcased exceptional skill, teamwork, and fighting spirit; finally, Team UoT secured a well-deserved win. UoT’s star players, Muhammad Rizwan and Saad, each netted a goal, displaying exceptional skill and coordination.
In the cricket match, the University of Gwadar team delivered a dominant performance. Batting first, the UoT posted a challenging total of 104 runs in 10 overs, but the Gwadar side chased down the target in just 8 overs for the loss of one wicket, clinching a 9-wicket victory.
UoT Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan said that such sporting events not only showcased the talent of the students of both universities but also reinforced the importance of inter-institutional collaboration, youth engagement, and regional harmony through sports activities.
He appreciated the efforts of the sports departments of both universities for arranging such a positive and competitive event for students. He added that such events ensured a smooth and spirited environment for inter-university collaboration.
