VC Chairs Highly Level Meeting on Student-Centered Growth and Academic Excellence

A high-level meeting was held on September 29, 2025, at the Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat of the University of Turbat UoT, chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan. The meeting was attended by faculty deans, the registrar, and heads of various academic and administrative departments.


The participants reviewed academic and administrative matters, security issues, Spring 2026 admissions, and the university’s future roadmap. Constructive and applicable suggestions for institutional reforms were also discussed. The Vice Chancellor briefed the attendees on the recent decisions made in the meeting between the Additional Chief Secretary of the Provincial Home Department and the Vice Chancellors of Balochistan’s public sector universities.


The meeting decided to extend the deadline for Spring 2026 admissions until October 31, 2025. It was also resolved to continue curriculum reforms to further enhance the quality of undergraduate and graduate programs. The participants of the meeting agreed that including all academic and administrative departments, the Directorate of Student Affairs and its subunits, including student clubs and societies, should be strengthened to encourage student participation in positive activities and decision-making processes.


Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan emphasized that the University of Turbat is committed not only to academic excellence but also to shaping students’ character building, fostering intellectual growth, and promoting their constructive roles in society. He highlighted the university’s efforts to prepare students as responsible and peaceful citizens while nurturing creativity, confidence, national cohesion, patriotism, and academic as well as moral development.


The meeting further agreed to include celeberation of national and international days, cultural, creative, and recreational events, science and innovation exhibitions, business galas, jobs and book fairs, convocations, and sports activities as regular features in the university’s academic calendar.


Regarding security, the Vice Chancellor directed the concerned departments to expedite the issuance of student ID cards to ensure timely facilitation. He also underscored the importance of providing adequate facilities for hostel residents, particularly in terms of cleanliness, security, food, internet facility, and other essential services. He reiterated that student welfare must remain a top priority to enable them to focus on their studies without distraction.


At the end of the meeting, the Vice Chancellor thanked all participants for their valuable suggestions to further improve academic and administrative affairs and affirmed that such consultative meetings will continue to be held for the progress of the university and the well-being of the students.
