Turbat University’s Faculty Members Conduct Skill Development Training for Affiliated College Students under BYSEDP

Turbat (December 29, 2025) A team of expert trainers from the University of Turbat (UoT), led by Dr. Ghulam Jan, Chairperson of the Management Sciences Department, successfully conducted a series of skill development workshops for students at UoT-affiliated colleges. The sessions were held at Government Girls Degree College Panjgur, Atta Shad Degree College Turbat, and Girls Degree College Turbat from December 10 to 22, 2025.

These training sessions were part of the Balochistan Youth Socioeconomic Development Program (BYSEDP), a flagship initiative by the Government of Balochistan's Youth Affairs Department, with Liaison Corporation (Pvt) Ltd as its consultant and implementing partner. The BYSEDP program, launched in phases, aims to empower thousands of youth through various integrated initiatives, advancing the objectives of the Balochistan Youth Policy 2024.
The training team included UoT’s senior faculty members Dr. Waseem Barkat, Mr. Noroz Khan, Ms. Ruqia Mirwani, Mr. Mumtaz Ahmed, and college lecturer Ms. Huma Imdad. They provided comprehensive training on communication and interpersonal skills, leadership, entrepreneurship, career counseling, CV writing, digital presence, and interview techniques through mock sessions.

The team leader, Dr. Ghulam Jan, emphasized that this initiative reflects the provincial government’s commitment to youth development. "The trainers and senior faculty members from UoT are playing a vital role in helping students recognize their potential and prepare for the socio-economic challenges of the region," he stated. He added that the sessions focused on building confidence and providing the tools necessary for dignified livelihoods. According to the university spokesperson, led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, the University of Turbat will continue to play a proactive role in collaborating with the provincial and federal governments to empower the youth of this region. Participants praised the sessions as interactive and motivating, noting that the training provided much-needed clarity regarding their career goals and the demands of the modern workplace.
