Under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, the University of Turbat (UoT) continues its commitment to faculty development by fostering collaborations with national and international educational and research institutes. As part of this commitment, the UoT faculty members, including Dr. Hani Abul Hassan and Ms. Ruqia Mirwani, recently completed an intensive 11-week Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) and Promoting Social Cohesion through Social Entrepreneurship, organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). The training has equipped participants with vital competencies in social entrepreneurship, peacebuilding, and modern teaching techniques.

The program, which ran from September 30 to December 22, 2025, featured a blend of virtual engagements and in-person sessions held in Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi.

According to the university spokesperson, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan congratulated Dr. Hani Abul Hasan and Ms. Ruqia Mirwani on their active participation. Appreciating their outstanding performance in the training, the Vice Chancellor expressed his hope that they would assimilate the knowledge gained into their professional practices and provide the benefits of training to students, faculty, and the wider academic community and university.

The Vice Chancellor described the program as a transformative step toward ethical education, youth empowerment, social enterprise, and peace building. The program concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony held on December 24, 2025, in Islamabad.
