Provincial Advisor Meena Majeed Visits UoT; Inaugurates Girls' Common Room and Inspects Development Projects

Ms. Meena Majeed, Provincial Advisor for Sports and Youth Affairs, visited the University of Turbat (UoT) on January 23, 2026. Upon her arrival, she was warmly received by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan and senior university officials. She inaugurated the newly constructed Girls' Common Room, a project funded through the Advisor’s special provincial grant.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Kamal Ahmed, Registrar Ganguzar Baloch, Director QEC Dr. Riaz Ahmed, Director Public Relations Ijaz Ahmed, faculty members Mehnaz Bashir and Samina Faqir, alongside officials from the Department of Communication, Works, Physical Planning, and Housing, including XEN Engineer Hamid Baloch, SDO Engineer Gohram Gichki, SDO Engineer Obaid Shad, and Engineer Nawaz Amin, as well as a large assembly of students.
During a briefing on the project, XEN Engineer Hamid Baloch said that while the Girls' Common Room was originally a two-year project, it was completed in a record time of just one year through tireless effort and without compromising on construction quality and standards.

Ms. Meena Majeed also reviewed various ongoing and completed Phase-II development projects funded by the Provincial Government and the Higher Education Commission (HEC). These facilities include the Daycare Center, football and cricket grounds, basketball court, Innovista Lab, smart classrooms, and a state-of-the-art gymnasium.
The Advisor lauded the university’s academic and research achievements and expressed her appreciation for the high enrollment of female students. She announced full financial support for the university’s upcoming Sports Week and pledged to coordinate personally with the Chief Minister of Balochistan to secure furniture and other essential amenities for the Daycare Center and the University Model School. Furthermore, she directed the relevant officials to expedite the grassing of the football ground and assured university officials of her support in securing the timely release of project funds.

Ms. Meena Majeed said that the development of the University of Turbat, the promotion of quality education, and the empowerment of women are the top priorities of the provincial government. We are committed to ensuring that all development projects are completed transparently, on time, and to the highest standards.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan thanked the Advisor for her deep commitment to the university’s progress and student welfare. During their meeting, the Vice Chancellor highlighted the need for a Green Bus service to ease transportation challenges for students traveling from Turbat city and its outskirts. Ms. Meena Majeed strongly endorsed the proposal, describing it as a vital necessity for the students, and promised to submit a special recommendation to the Chief Minister to address this need.
