University of Turbat Hosts Orientation for Balochistan Government’s RISE Digital Skills Program

The University of Turbat (UoT) City Campus hosted an orientation session on Wednesday for candidates enrolled in upcoming professional and digital skills short courses, marking a collaborative effort to equip local youth with freelancing expertise and modern technical capabilities. The initiative is financially supported by the Government of Balochistan’s RISE program.

According to the University’s spokesperson, addressing the gathering as the chief guest, Deputy Commissioner Kech, Yasir Iqbal Dashti, said that the provincial government is deeply committed to enhancing the professional competence of the region's youth. He characterized the specialized short courses as a revolutionary step toward aligning the local workforce with evolving global market demands.
Altaz Sakhi, Regional Manager of the Balochistan Rural Support Programme (BRSP) RISE Project, highlighted a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the RISE program and UoT earlier this month, under which the university will deliver market-driven digital and professional training.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Dean, Faculty of Law, Dr. Muzaffar Hussain, lauded the provincial government's initiative and emphasized the critical need to modernize educational frameworks, computer laboratories, infrastructure, and digital resources to meet contemporary standards.
UoT Director Public Relations, Ijaz Ahmed, assured participants of the institution's complete operational backing. He said that under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Gul Hasan, the university's faculty and expert instructors are fully equipped to train students through their digital transition.

During the session, BRSP’s DLO Suhaila Rashid provided a comprehensive briefing on the curriculum layout, highlighting the long-term utility and career prospects of the designated skills programs.
At the end, Dean, Faculty of Law presented the university's annual report to the Deputy Commissioner. Dr. Muhammad Yaseen, Director, ORIC, Meer Bahad Baloch, PSO to the Vice Chancellor, Ghous Bakhsh Baloch, Assistant Registrar, Noor Ahmed & Sakim Hasan, BRSP-RISE Project Representatives, senior university faculty and project officials were also present on the occasion.
