The University of Turbat (UoT) and the Balochistan University of Engineering and Technology Khuzdar (BUETK) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the implementation of Revival of Balochistan Water Resources Program (RBWRP).

Supported by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, the RBWRP aims to promote sustainable and equitable management of water, agriculture, livestock, and rangeland resources across targeted areas in Balochistan.

The UoT’s Assistant Registrar, Mr. Ghous Bakhsh, and BUETK’s representative, Engr. Shakeel Ahmed, Project Manager (RBWRP) signed the agreement at UoT.

Under this partnership, both institutions will focus on implementing climate-resilient water and land practices, and raising public awareness through seminars and workshops. The collaboration will also feature educational outreach for local communities, student engagement activities, and the establishment of knowledge corners with partner universities.

According to the university spokesperson, the UoT’s Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan said in his message that this MoU is aligned with UoT’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN-SDGs). Under this agreement, the UoT will work jointly with BUETK, the FAO, and other partner organizations to improve livelihoods, enhance food security, and ensure environmental sustainability in South Balochistan.
