The Poet of the East remembered in Turbat University

The University of Turbat (UoT) on Friday (9th November 2018) organized ceremonies in connection with the 141st birth anniversary of Allama Iqbal, Poet of the East, at its main campus Turbat, Gwadar campus and Law department city campus.

“Iqbal’s message of self-reliance for the youth can help students in shaping their character and practical lives,” said Faculty of Arts and Social Science Dean Prof Dr. Abdul Saboor Baloch while addressing a ceremony at the main campus. The event was attended by Chairman Political Science department Changez Ahmed, Muzaffar Hussain, faculty members and students.

“The poet of the east Allama Muhammad Iqbal had a firm belief in the rule of law and justice,” Said Dr. Saboor.

faculty members and students also shared their views regarding Iqbal’s inspirational poetry and his services for the unity of Muslim world.

Addressing a program organized by the Law Department in city campus of the Turbat University Incharge Law department Naseem Baloch and students also highlighted the unforgettable services rendered by Allama Muhammad Iqbal for the freedom and prosperity of Muslims of Sub continent. Mr. Mukhtar Bashir, a faculty member from UoT Gwadar campus, Law department’s teachers and students attended the ceremony.

At the Gwadar campus the program held in connection with Iqbal Day consisted on two sessions.

In the first session the students from Education, Management Sciences, Computer Sciences and Commerce department described Iqbal’s life through speeches and poetry. Speaking on the occasion Shahnaz Noor Incharge Education department, highlighted the life and political services of the great poet and philosopher.

In the second session, a Baitbazi event on Iqbal’s poetry, poem and Ghazal was held between two team. Each team was composed on six members. Team A included department of Education and Commerce while team B included Computer Science and Management Sciences department. The students enjoyed and lauded the programs.

The vice chancellor Turbat University Prof Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir appreciated the efforts of the UoT registrar Ghulam Farooq, director Gwadar campus Ijaz Ahmed, Chairpersons of different department, faculty members and administrative staff for celebrating Iqbal Day in various campuses of the University.
