Turbat University got 2 nd position in PUDC 2021

University of Turbat (UoT) bagged the second position in the Regional Round of Pakistan Universities Debating Championship (PUDC 2021).
The Regional Round of PUDC was organized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) at Balochistan University of Information Technology Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) Quetta on 6th April 2021.
The students from most of the universities of Balochistan including the University of Turbat, the University of Balochistan Quetta, the University of Loralai, Mir Chakar Khan Rind University Sibi, Alhamd Islamic University Quetta, Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences, and BUITEMS participated in the event. The Debating Championship consisted of discussions and debates in Urdu and the English language on various contemporary topics between the students of the universities.
The University of Turbat’s team won the second position in the debate contest in the Urdu language on the topic "انگریزی زبان ترقی کے لیے ضروری ہے?" They argued against the topic. The 1st and 3rd positions won by the University of Balochistan and BUITEMS respectively.
Congratulating the UoT team for winning 2nd position in the event, vice-chancellor Professor Dr. Jan Muhammad said that the students would be encouraged to participate in the competitions at the national and international levels.
Lucky Saleem student of Chemistry Department, Shabir Ahmed of Balochi and Sanjar Sakim of Education Department representing Turbat University in PUDC won the second position, while Mazhar Gichki Lecturer English Department was the focal person of the Team Turbat University.
