In commemoration of World Clean-Up Day, the Green Youth Movement Club, University of Turbat (UoT) organized a clean-up drive on 15th September 2023 at the main campus of the university with the slogan ‘Let’s Do It Together’. Teaching faculty and students of the Department of Chemistry, Education, English, Management Sciences, Economics, and Natural & Basic Sciences and the Institute of Balochi Language and Culture (IBLC) voluntarily joined hands together to clean up litter and mismanaged waste from campus.

The initiative, held across the campus, attracted volunteers who championed sustainability by cleaning up and raising awareness of the damaging impact of plastic pollution. The drive resulted in solid waste collected, sorted, and properly disposed.

The purpose of such activities was to bring a sense of community and responsibility to keep our homes and work areas safe and clean. Visible results might lead to heightened interest and involvement among community members in reducing garbage and food waste and preserving the environment.

Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad, Vice Chancellor, University of Turbat appreciated the efforts of the members of the Green Youth Movement Club and faculty members in launching the campus clean-up drive at the university on the occasion of “World Clean-Up Day”. He said this initiative demonstrates their commitment and dedication to creating a cleaner, safer, and healthier environment within our campus.
