UoT Representative Attends “Faculty and Staff Mobility Workshop” in Italy

A five-day “Faculty and Staff Mobility Workshop” was held from May 27 to May 31, 2024, at Sapienza University of Rome. The event was organized by the Dipartimento di Informatica, Sapienza University of Rome, under the Erasmus+ CBHE RAPID Project.

Faculty and staff from various universities in Pakistan, including IBA Sukkur, IBA Karachi, University of Turbat, University of Balochistan, and University of Gilgit-Baltistan, participated in the workshop. Syed Azhar Murtaza, Office Assistant at the Directorate of IT, represented the University of Turbat in the workshop.

The workshop aimed to improve teaching methodologies through ICT-based solutions and promote the adoption of modern 21st century teaching and learning methods, particularly eLearning and online education.

Three geographically distant universities including University of Turbat, University of Balochistan, and the University of Gilgit-Baltistan are associate partners in the RAPID Project. The project includes partner institutions from program countries such as NTNU Norway, LNU Sweden, and Sapienza University Italy, to learn and implement best practices in eLearning.

The RAPID Project focuses on adopting the best practices from European universities during the pandemic to enhance online education in Pakistan. During the workshop, participants explored various innovative teaching methods and technologies used at Sapienza University, including the integration of digital tools and platforms to facilitate interactive and engaging learning experiences.

The workshop provided valuable insights and practical strategies for educators to enhance their online teaching practices, benefiting students and contributing to a more resilient and adaptive education system.
