University of Turbat Reviews Reforms to Modernize B.Ed. Program and Strengthen Teacher Education

An important meeting chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan was held at the Vice Chancellor's Secretariat on June 23, 2026, to review ongoing efforts to strengthen the Department of Education, modernize the B.Ed. program, and align it with contemporary educational requirements and emerging technologies.

The meeting was attended by Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Kamal Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Dr. Muhammad Tahir Hakeem, Director of the Quality Enhancement Cell Dr. Riaz Ahmed, Chairperson of the Department of Education Dr. Mahnaz Aslam, and Director Public Relations Ijaz Ahmed.
Participants reviewed progress on curriculum reforms, digitalization initiatives, and the adoption of modern teaching methodologies. According to the University’s spokesperson, addressing the meeting, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan emphasized that preparing future teachers to meet contemporary educational challenges is a top priority of the University. He emphasized the need to enhance teacher education by equipping students with classroom management, communication, computer, digital, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) skills.

The Vice Chancellor said that the B.Ed. program is a professional degree that plays a crucial role in shaping future generations. He underscored the importance of restructuring and updating the curriculum in line with national and international standards as well as evolving market demands.
He instructed the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Chairperson of the Department of Education to ensure the effective implementation of the decisions taken during the meeting, assuring them of the University's full support.
The participants also presented valuable suggestions aimed at further strengthening the B.Ed. program and aligning it more closely with the Higher Education Commission’s National Framework.

Earlier, Dr. Mahnaz Aslam, Chairperson of the Department of Education, briefed the meeting on the progress made towards strengthening the department and aligning the B.Ed. program with modern requirements.
