Turbat University holds 11th meeting of Academic Council

The 11th meeting of the Academic Council of University of Turbat (UoT) was held at meeting room of the university on 19 th November, 2020.


Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir Vice Chancellor (VC) of University of Turbat chaired the meeting. The meeting was attended by Ghulam Farooq Baloch registrar, Prof. Dr. Abdul Saboor Baloch dean faculty of Arts & Social Sciences, Dr. Hanif Ur Rahman dean faculty of Science & Engineering, Tanveer Ahmed controller of examinations, Syed Shabeek director finance, Ijaz Ahmed director UoT’s Gwadar campus, Zuhra Baloch Principal girl’s degree college Turbat and heads of the all teaching departments.

The Vice Chancellor welcomed all participants and announced to start the proceedings of the meeting. Then the agenda items were presented by the UoT’s registrar Ghulam Farooq Baloch to the house for deliberation and the decisions.


The house confirmed the minutes of the 10 th meeting of Academic Council and approved the minutes the 10 th meeting of Advance Studies and Research Board.
The meeting also approved the courses of BS program to be taught in the newly introduced department of History and Sociology in UoT.

Besides discussing the matters related to the policy and courses for admission in 5th semester in UoT after completion of BA/B.Sc. the house also discussed and resolved the matters related to devising courses and procedures for two years AD program in affiliated colleges.


The house also resolved the agenda item of the formation of Departmental Admission
Committee (DAC) for admission in MS/M.Phil. program.

Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir in his opening remarks emphasized on developing a strategic academic and research plan of the university keeping in view the changing academic and industrial requirements in a globally competitive skills market. He called for abiding by all relevant rules and regulations in running the affairs of the university.
Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir appreciated the efforts of the faculty members and administrative staff for their contributions towards the advancement of the university in short time.


Vice Chancellor said that “we are committed for upgrading our campuses, augmenting our academic activities, enhancing research activities, and improving facilities and ICT connectivity for the students and faculty.”

He said that the approval of the 2nd phase of the Turbat University by the HEC and the CDWP and inauguration of the 2nd phase by the Prime Minister Imran Khan recently, is indeed a proud accomplishment by the University which would open new vistas of opportunities for the youth of this region to acquire quality education in modern, scientific, advanced and market-based disciplines which can accelerate the pace of development and prosperity of the people of this region.

He underscored that these achievements speak volumes of the tireless efforts made by the faculty members, administrative staff and public representatives of the area for making this day a reality.


He said that with the continued keen interest and timely support from HEC, federal and provincial government, our institution has the potential to become an excellent university on par with institutions of higher learning of international standard.

Ghulam Farooq Baloch, Prof. Dr. Abdul Saboor Baloch, Dr. Hanif Ur Rahman, Tanveer Ahmed and heads of the teaching departments presented their valuable input in resolving all agenda items.
