VC Inaugurates “Business Research and Self Development Program” in UoT

The Vice Chancellor (VC) of University of Turbat (UoT) Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir on 18th November. 2020 inaugurated the “Business, Research & Self Development Program (BRSDP)” held in UoT’s video conferencing room organized by the Management Sciences Department.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by the administrative staff, heads of various teaching departments, faculty members, and students of the University.
Speaking on the occasion, the VC Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir appreciated the efforts of the chairman Management Sciences department Dr. Waseem Barkat. Dr. Ghulam Jan and other faculty members for initiating innovative programs and activities for digging out and polishing the skills and hidden talents of the university’s students in the line of modern needs.
VC said that such programs would help us not only to overcome prevailing challenges and encourage the concept of self-employability but also promote a viable, dynamic and innovative society.
Highlighting the objectives of the program, Dr. Ghulam Jan said that BRSDP is aimed to
produce researchers, entrepreneurs, and leaders who could yield a high impact on society.
Dr. Ghulam Jan further added that the program is divided into different segments. In the Business segment, the entrepreneurial skills of the students would be enhanced; the Research module would focus on building research scholarship, and the Self-Development segment would emphasize on personality development of the students.
Dr. Waseem Barkat said that “In order to accomplish the prescribed objectives, a series of training, workshops, seminars, lecture sessions, research symposiums, and other skill development activities would be carried out.” He explained that until now, two workshops with the titles “Creative Market Insight” and “Sharing Best Practices in Research” have been conducted respectively, while in the days to come, different sessions would be conducted on Analysis and Referencing Software Training, Research Proposal Writing, Research Publication, Creative and critical thinking, and other learning activities.
